What is an eyelid lift and what goal can be achieved?
Excess skin, increased deposits in the eyelids or the slackening of muscles in the eyelid can impair the visual effect of the eyes. Affected patients look tired, unfocused or fatigued. This can be corrected with the help of an eye lift without visible scars. Depending on the initial situation, the following treatment scopes are differentiated (combinations are possible):
Upper eyelid lift / drooping eyelid surgery
An upper eyelid lift helps to correct drooping eyelids. This can correct drooping eyelids. Often in combination with eyebrow lifting.
Lower eyelid lift

What alternatives are there and why a surgical eyelid lift?
Many different methods are available (e.g. eyelid correction with plasma pen, without surgery, etc.).
The following questions should be asked when choosing your method:
- Why did your visual defect of the eyes occur?
- What is the root cause of your drooping upper eyelids?
- If there is excess skin, does it need to be removed? Creams, pens, etc. will not help here.
- Do the eyelid ligaments need to be corrected? If yes, then you will not get permanently beautiful results without surgery.

How is an eyelid lift performed?

Depending on your needs, small incisions are made and placed as inconspicuously as possible. The duration of the eyelid lift treatment depends on the extent of your eyelid surgery.
What risks or complications can occur?
As with any surgical procedure, there are possible complications. The most common ones include wound healing problems, infections, post-operative bleeding, dry eyes and overcorrection. Our many years of experience and the detailed preliminary examination help to reduce the risk of risks. Serious side effects are rare with experienced aesthetic surgeons.
How does the healing process go? What needs to be considered after an eyelid lift?
- You should rest the night after the operation.
- Targeted cooling in the treatment area can help to reduce any swelling that may occur.
- You should avoid physical exertion for the first few days after the operation.
- As the eyes are very sensitive to light at first, it is advisable to wear dark sunglasses.
- The stitches will be removed by your doctor after about a week.
- In the treatment area, there may be a bruise in the area of the lower eyelids (colloquially known as "blue eyes" or "violets"). This usually disappears within 8 to 10 days after the operation.
- You should refrain from using cosmetics, make-up and creams in the treatment area until the stitches have been removed.
- Refrain from rubbing your eyes vigorously for the first few weeks after the operation.
- If you wear contact lenses, we will clarify during the preliminary examination whether you should wear glasses during this time.
