In these cases, it is advisable to postpone the procedure until a later date.
Procedure of the body lift at the Noahklinik Kassel
The procedure is performed under General anaesthesia and can take up to six hours. During the lower body lift, an incision is made around the body at the level of the bikini area. Following this, the plastic and aesthetic surgeon can remove excess tissue and tighten the underlying muscles. If a thigh lift is also performed, an incision is also necessary in the groin area and the folds of the buttocks or on the inner side of the thighs to achieve an aesthetic whole. Finally, the belly button is inserted in a new place.
Behaviour after the body lift
A body lift is a major operation. Accordingly, the body needs several weeks to heal. To support it, you will receive a special compression girdle that you should wear consistently for the next six weeks. This protects the tissue and gives it support at the same time. It also stimulates the flow of lymph, which helps the wound to heal. After about two weeks, we remove the stitches. Most patients are fit to work and socialise three to four weeks after the operation. Sport and strenuous physical activity are possible again six weeks after a body lift - but only gradually increase your training load again.
As soon as the wounds have healed, you can start with the scar care. We always try to make the incisions in such a way that the later course of the scar disappears under the underwear or bikini bottoms. Nevertheless, in addition to the individual predisposition, the care of the scars is especially important so that they are as fine and inconspicuous as possible later on.

A body lift is one of the aesthetic procedures that are not usually covered by statutory health insurance. However, in the case of severe weight loss, which is beneficial to a patient's general health, the costs are covered in some cases.
