Eyelid lift at the Noahklinik in Kassel
Removal of drooping eyelids and bags under the eyes
The ageing process can lead to unsightly changes around the eyes. Drooping eyelids make the eyes look small and tired. The sagging of the eyelids also leads to wrinkles and a bulging of the fatty tissue around the eyeball, from which the so-called bags under the eyes develop. These signs of ageing can be corrected by means of eyelid lifting.
Eyelid surgery is one of the most common facial surgical procedures in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery.

What is an eyelid lift and what goal can be achieved?
Excess skin, increased deposits in the eyelids or the slackening of muscles in the eyelid can impair the visual effect of the eyes. Affected patients look tired, unfocused or fatigued. This can be corrected with the help of an eye lift without visible scars. Depending on the initial situation, the following treatment scopes are differentiated (combinations are possible):
Upper eyelid lift / drooping eyelid surgery
An upper eyelid lift helps to correct drooping eyelids. This can correct drooping eyelids. Often in combination with eyebrow lifting.
Lower eyelid lift
In the lower eyelid lift, on the other hand, excess skin is removed through a small incision at the lash line.
Tear sac removal
Even very pronounced bags under the eyes can be removed in this way. For this, the patient's own fat is not removed but transposed to cover the edge and emphasise the midface and make it look younger.
Upper and lower eyelid lifts can be performed in a single procedure. So you look younger and fresher after just one procedure. The look is clearer and more open.

How does the healing process proceed and what should I bear in mind after the eyelid lift?
You should allow yourself to rest the night after the operation. Targeted cooling in the treatment area can help to reduce any swelling that may develop.
You should avoid physical exertion for the first few days after the operation.
As the eyes are very sensitive to light in the first period, it is advisable to wear dark sunglasses. We will be happy to advise you on the optimal healing process at our clinic in Kassel. The stitches will be removed by your attending doctor after about one week.
In the treatment area, there may be a bruise in the area of the lower eyelids (colloquially known as "blue eyes" or "violets"). This usually disappears within 8 to 10 days after the operation.
You should refrain from using cosmetics, make-up and creams in the treatment area until the stitches have been removed. You should also refrain from vigorous "eye rubbing" for the first few weeks after the operation. If you wear contact lenses, we will clarify during the preliminary examination whether you should rather wear glasses during this time.
We will clarify the use of a scar cream to support healing with you during the consultation.
