Procedure for a neck lift to remove a double chin
Depending on the initial findings, Prof. Dr. Noah carries out various treatments. In the case of a slight double chin, a small liposuction is usually sufficient. The situation is different with severely sagging tissue in the neck area. A surgical neck lift then usually promises the best possible result.
The classic neck lift is performed under general anaesthetic and takes between three and five hours. The plastic surgeon first makes a horizontal incision below the chin. Excess tissue is then removed. In addition, the neck muscles can be tightened. This is particularly useful if the tendons in the neck are very prominent. The tissue can also be tightened through an incision behind the ear. Then the scars are well hidden afterwards.

In some cases, a tightening of the neck alone is useful. Often, however, an entire facelift must be performed to create an aesthetic whole. With an SMAS facelift, the neck no longer has to be tightened separately. Prof. Dr. Noah decides individually whether a single tightening or a complete facelift makes sense.
These include antibiotic prophylaxis shortly before the procedure, but also nipple protection and the recommendation not to place drains, as these can be an entry point for bacteria. Correct behaviour after a neck lift
A neck lift is not a minor procedure. That's why rest and relaxation are especially important in the days following the procedure. Patients who only need a Liposuction but are usually quickly fit again. After an operation, you stay between one and three days at the Noahklinik in Kassel. Immediately after the operation, we put on a bandage. This protects the operated tissue and can be removed after five days. Swelling and bruising are normal and no cause for concern. Avoid sport and strenuous physical activity for up to three weeks after the treatment. As soon as the wounds have healed, you can start caring for the scars. This way, only fine scars remain after the procedure, which are almost invisible.
