HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT IN KASSEL

Remove sweat glands & Botox against sweating

Have hyperhidrosis treated in Kassel

Who doesn't know it, the occasional sweat, especially in stressful situations? But some suffer from excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) even at rest. Those affected usually suffer enormously. Areas such as the feet, hands and armpits are mainly affected. Hyperhidrosis can be caused by genetic factors, stress or medication.

Those affected seek help in the form of deodorant soaps, deodorants, creams, medications (e.g. mehtanthelinium bromide), ionophoresis (low current therapy), but often with little or no success.

What can we do for you?

In our clinic we offer the Botox therapy as well as the surgical intervention, the so-called Suction curettage (removal of the sweat glands by suction).

Treatment with botulinum toxin for hyperhidrosis

Botulinum toxin A (Botox) is a toxin of the bacterium Clostridium botulinium. The bacterium is known to cause food poisoning. In medicine, however, the industrially produced toxin is used to inhibit the transmission of nerve stimuli. In very low concentrations, the active substance is injected (injected) into the subcutaneous firm tissue with special injection cannulas. This can be painful in the area of the feet, which requires local anaesthesia of the area.

Advantage of treatment with Botox:
A quick form of therapy that can be performed under local anaesthetic or without any anaesthetic at all.

Disadvantage of Botox treatment for hyperhidrosis:
The toxin's effect wears off, thus a necessary repetition of the treatment every 6 months up to one year.

Treatment with suction curettage for hyperhidrosis

This method is a well-known and recognised alternative to Botox injections. The background to this is the surgical removal of the sweat glands in the armpit area. Suction curettage can only be performed in the armpit area and is not suitable for the hands or feet.

The procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic. A special solution is injected into the subcutaneous fatty tissue in the armpit area via small cannulas. Beforehand, the treatment areas are shown with a special stain. The sweat glands are first sucked out through small skin incisions with a special cannula and then scraped out with a special instrument. Not all sweat glands are removed, but a large part of them, so that a "normal" tendency to sweat will still be present. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis.
An ointment dressing with Bepanthen is applied and remains for the next two days. After that, it is only necessary to apply moisturising ointments for a period of 14 days.

Advantage of sweat gland suction:
In most cases, the treatment results last a lifetime. The procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia or on an outpatient basis.

Disadvantage of sweat gland suction:
In some cases, a recurrence of the increased tendency to sweat. Only possible in the armpit area.
